Urban Autism Solutions (UAS) is seeking a seasonal Part-Time Grower to join our dynamic team at Growing Solutions Farm. In this rewarding role, you will play a key position in empowering young adults with autism by supporting their learning and growth in a nurturing and supportive environment.

​

At Growing Solutions Farm, our nationally-recognized program provides students from West Side Chicago public high schools with valuable job and life skills through sustainable agriculture. 

​

As a seasonal Part-time Grower, you will contribute to this impactful mission by:

  • Assisting with various horticultural tasks, including planting, harvesting, and pruning.

  • Ensuring food safety and sanitation by maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment.

  • Supporting students in their learning and development while fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Providing exceptional customer service at our on-site farmstands and off-site markets.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to:

  • Gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and organic gardening.

  • Develop valuable transferable skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

  • Contribute to a thriving urban farm that supports environmental sustainability and community engagement.

  • Enjoy a flexible shift up to 20 hours per week from May to October, 2025.

 

Qualifications:

  • Passion for supporting individuals with autism.

  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in urban agriculture is a plus.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
